Law and Order and the Constitution are two of the biggest platforms of the GOP this year, so obviously that means we skip the entire judicial process and go back to public lynchings and hangings in the town square! Better yet, we ignore not guilty verdicts and put people in jail anyway! Right?
I am not at all sick and tired of hearing chants of “lock her up” and “kill that bitch”, especially coming from the mouths of babes directed at Hillary Clinton. It has elevated the level of discourse in this country and allowed us to focus on important issues.
- Is the Republican appointed James Comey really a Shillary Democrat?
- Could Roger Stone outdo twenty years of constant digging by every single Republican on the planet?
- Does the cost of her clothing impede her ability to make policy decisions while her opponent is traveling on his private jet in equally expensive suits?
- If a story doesn’t drop in the Breitbart Echo Chamber, is it a government conspiracy cover up?
- When the media quotes the candidate, is that unfair and biased?
The GOP has been demonstrating their Christian party morals and values in exceptional ways this year. The Pro-Life Party of Riverside County, California, Tweeted the following:
This was tweeted from the Riverside County GOP Twitter account @RPRC @HillaryClinton http://bit.ly/2atZaHc pic.twitter.com/aodh36H8Xg
Riverside County GOP Chairman Scott Mann said he was “horrified” by the tweet, and promised to take action against the person responsible.
“I was made aware of derogatory tweet this afternoon toward Secretary Clinton when the Press-Enterprise called me for comment. I was horrified and had the tweet taken down immediately,” Mann said in an email to the Times on Wednesday afternoon. “While some may think it was political satire, it clearly has no place in American political dialogue. As chairman of the Republican Party of Riverside County, I apologize to everyone and anyone who was offended by it.”
According to the Press-Enterprise, Mann’s response earlier in the day was much different. The paper reported that in an email he stated: “That meme is nothing more than political satire. It simply expresses how Ms. Clinton seemingly has gotten away with every scandal and political flip-flop in her public life — from classified email and Benghazi to her changing positions on healthcare, TPP, NAFTA, gay marriage, etc.” source
Nothing amazes me more these days than self-professed Right-Winged Christians hopping online to bash Hillary and attempting to shame folks into voting Trump. Seriously?
Actually, maybe they do have a point. Per the Bible stories, Jesus was executed without a fair trial. Pontius Pilate basically called Him in and asked leading questions to egg on the crowds to agree with him (Chris Christie at the RNC anyone?). He was completely dehumanized, which probably is what allowed everyone to justify their hatred and actions. So perhaps this is how these so-called Christians can spew such hatred and vitriol. Hillary Clinton is JESUS!
Or, feasibly, the new definition of limited government is allowing the loudest people to determine guilt or innocence and be the judges, jury, and executioners. It’s reminiscent of the KKK.
In all seriousness, though, I think it goes back to the authoritarian nature of fundamentalism. They want someone to tell them what to think, what to feel, what to fear, and then tell them that they alone can fix it. They do not need details; sound bytes are plenty. Give them someone to demonize, to blame for all of their problems.
This is your GOP, America. 2016. Welcome to the shit show.
