Trump Illegally Bribes Ben Carson to Gain Endorsement
It came as somewhat of a surprise that after dropping out of the presidential race, Ben Carson chose to endorse Donald Trump last Friday. What was particularly confusing is that, in typical Trump fashion, Trump regularly insulted Carson during events, comparing him to a child molester. Not only that, but in general Trump seems to be the anti-Carson: he encourages and endorses violence. Marco Rubio, perhaps the shiniest turd in the Republican candidate turd pile, has even aligned himself with the democratic candidates criticizing the vitriol Trump is vomitting from his mouth.
The picture has now become somewhat clearer. It appears that Trump illegally offered Carson a cabinet position in order to get Carson’s endorsement.
US Code states:
Whoever, being a candidate, directly or indirectly promises or pledges the appointment, or the use of his influence or support for the appointment of any person to any public or private position or employment, for the purpose of procuring support in his candidacy shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both; and if the violation was willful, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.
As my friend Bobby said,
Carson’s endorsement of Trump is like the dumb cartoon henchman who can’t help but divulge the evil plan to the superhero.
In the video below, Carson explains his change of heart – “He does love America. And he does want to be successful. And he will surround himself with very good people.”
When asked if Carson will be one of these people, Carson said “I will be doing things as well, yes… certainly in an advisory capacity.”
When pressed for details, Carson said “I’m not going to reveal any details about it right now because all of this is still very liquid.”
This speaks volumes to Trump’s methodology and how he will behave if he is elected president. He is demonstrating a propensity to disregard the law and appears happy to made shady under-the-table deals. One can only assume that Trump made a similar deal with Chris Christie as there is literally no other reason to endorse Trump.
You can see the self-disclosure itself (at 6:40 in the video):
