Sean Spicer, whose biggest talent is maintaining a straight face while spouting utter bullshit on the behalf of Donald Trump, crawled the media today for being mean to TrumpleThinSkin. SAD!
“There’s some positive aspects here and there, but largely it still continues to not treat him with the respect that he deserves,” Spicer said.
“I think for a lot of folks inside the beltway, and inside pundit-world, they don’t fully appreciate the understanding that he has of where the American people are,” Spicer continued. “They continue to mock him in ways, when it frankly just shows the lack of understanding of that they have of where the American people are and what they think.” (The Hill)
No, he doesn’t have an understanding of where the majority of us are. Shhh! Don’t tell anyone, but he lost the popular vote! And the media is super nice to Democrats; just ask Hillary Clinton!
“There are countless examples of the media engaging — overtly or covertly — cheering on Democrats and there’s no accountability. But it’s also not even frowned upon,” he said.
McTweety does not appear to grasp the concept that respect begets respect, since he likes to hop on Twitter and insult people, especially journalists, whenever the mood strikes him. During the primaries, and even at his post-election Nazi-esque rallies, Trump had the media penned up like a side show when they weren’t banned completely; while he encouraged his army of deplorables to insult and berate them.
Several members of the press have come forward and admitted to requiring security, body guards, and Secret Service escorts for protection because of his treatment of them. It is so difficult to imagine why Herr Gropenfuhrer might have a tenuous relationship with the press.
Just last summer, Cheetolini actually said, “I’m not running against Crooked Hillary; I’m running against the crooked media.” He followed it a few days later with, “It is not ‘freedom of the press’ when newspapers and others are allowed to say and write whatever they want even if it is completely false!” (Guardian)
He also claimed, “Reporters are the most dishonest human beings you will ever meet.” (MarketWatch) Yeah, it’s the media’s fault.
Spicer today made it clear that not much will change once Trump is sworn in less than two weeks from now. Oh, joy. The collective hope bubble just burst.
“Journalists and everyone in America has a Constitutional right to express themselves or write what they want to write,” Spicer explained.
“But he equally has a right to make sure that the record is set straight, the facts are known, and that people can’t just take potshots without being held accountable.”
Would this man know a fact if it walked up and smacked him on his triple chin he bitched about the evil media showing in a photograph? Do we have four years of Infowars to look forward to? Could he be diplomatic if his very life depended upon it? What if the lives of all Americans relied on it? If he cannot handle criticism from a few journalists, how in the hell is he going to deal with foreign leaders?
Say what you will about President Obama, but even if you did not like his policies, the man was an amazing diplomat. We are certainly going to miss him when the nukes are headed straight for us. We are so screwed.
