If I had a dollar for every time I’ve been called a “snowflake” by a Trump supporter, I could probably take a three week vacation to the Bahamas. Even as Republicans move to undo years of progress by the Obama administration that helped the people who voted for Trump, they still maniacally stand by their man, because “liberal tears.”
These folks have abandoned Fox News for not being complete shills for Trump, and have turned to Breitbart, Gateway Pundit, or other far-right organizations for their news instead. They still believe Hillary Clinton should go to jail for her emails, even though the Trump administration has been rocked by one scandal after another involving contacts with Russia.
I’m not in a position to be hurt by 4 to 8 years of a Trump administration. I have a good job and healthcare secured by a union contract, and plenty of guns that are locked and ready just in case a Klan rally breaks out in my neighborhood.
The same thing can’t be said for the poor suckers who voted for Trump. Many of them depend on government-subsidized healthcare, Social Security, or welfare. Even though they’ve been told that the biggest leechers on the government teat are minorities, and everyone else they look down on, red states take more in federal dollars than they pay in.
The poor and the elderly will see their insurance rates skyrocket under the proposed repeal of Obamacare. 24 million Americans could find themselves without insurance, either by being priced out of the marketplace, or by having Medicaid expansion phased out.
Many of Trump’s poor and working class voters will be hurt by these proposed changes. They’ll be more sick and more miserable than they were before. Some are realizing that they have been duped, but the rest are denying the facts and claiming it is all “fake news.”
These individuals won’t ever blame Trump for leaving them up shit creek without a paddle. They will blame President Obama, Democrats, liberals and everyone but themselves for their plight. I can’t feel sorry for them, because this is a mess that Democrats did not create, and a mess Democrats refuse to sign off on.
Trump has abandoned nearly every promise that he made on the campaign trail. He hasn’t talked about his proposed wall with Mexico that our neighbors were supposed to pay for in awhile. Instead of carrying through on any of the talking points that got him elected, Trump has created one media outrage after another to distract people from the fact he became the least unpopular president so quickly into his tenure in office.
That’s what these outrages are designed to do. They’re meant to distract the media, rally his supporters who’ll believe anything he says, and create a bright, shiny object to divert attention away from the fact that the wannabe dictator has no clothes – and no clue.
